3D printing/CAD is receiving increased attention by the 800lb Gorilla.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/3D_Printing
In part due to miscommunication and some delays in updates QCad was
forked to LibreCad.
http://libregraphicsworld.org/blog/entry/librecad-vs-qcad
QCad has subsequently released community source code under GPLV3.
http://www.qcad.org/en/qcad-downloads-trial
LibreCad is GPLV2 but requires the muparser library.
I am looking at updating QCad/LibreCad and have been able to get
muparser to build in OpenBSD current.
So the questions
Is there OpenBSD interest in 3D printing/CAD software?
QCad vs LibreCad? I understand there is gpu based rendering for
Intel and ATI video chips
Any input on the Slicer utility : Skeinforge vs SFACT vs Slic3r?
Input on 3D printer software: Cura vs RepetierHost vs Repsnapper
vs Printrun
Warning: I have crummy email at the moment - replies to me generate an
automated reply from Earthlink. I'll be looking for any OpenBSD replies
and will add the sender to my address book. You can ignore the reply
from Earthlink.
